Awarding those who support young people to manage conflict in their lives

Lighting the Fire is Leap‘s annual awards event that celebrates the young people, adults and organisations that excel at supporting young people to manage the conflict in their lives.

Now in its seventh year, the event serves to celebrate and raise awareness of the incredible work being done in the sector; to build new relationships; and to bring partner organisations together with young people and funders.

Last year, nominations came in from far and wide, from partnerships between NHS trusts, councils and youth centres, to those supporting young adults with learning disabilities. We heard about coaching programmes in prisons, a double decker bus that’s bringing together rival gangs, coaches using sport to support young people and projects that bring together entire communities.

Nominations are open for three categories:

  • Young leader (11 – 25 years)
  • Inspirational adult (25+ years)
  • Best project or organisation.

The awards ceremony is planned and hosted by Leap trainers and graduates, and is open to all organisations and individuals across the UK.

The deadline for submit nominations is Monday 1st April (5pm)
